First Union late charges

The press releases
for First Union
don't mention it, but effective 4/1/97, they have raised late payment, over-limit,
and other fees on their
Visa and MasterCards by 45%.
In just 16 months, from 12/1/95 to 4/1/97, First Union raised these
fees by 60%.
So much for passing the savings from bank consolidations on to consumers.

Scheme to increase fee and interest income backfires.
NationsBank raised many of its checking account fees about a year ago...
now that they've discovered such increases irk some of their customers,
they claim to be doing penance by eliminating one fee while making
other changes to their fee structure.
But reading between the lines may cause you to doubt their sincerity
of their announcement.
Credicorp "Gold Card"
Credicorp sends out notices that give the impression they're
offering a bank credit card, and if you don't send in your money,
you'll lose your eligibility!
